Day 7 (September 21th) Limerick -Galway

Our day started out at 9am, which is what seems to be the common start time. It makes for a much more relaxed day.

As we started out, we passed the airport, we noticed a statue of a person with wings - seems apropos for an airport entrance.  Our journey took us to the Cliffs of Moher, huge rugged cliffs that rise up 668ft.  They were amazing to see.

After spending some time at the cliffs, we continued our journey, travelling to Rathbaurn farm, a working sheep farm.  We were greeted by a delightful couple of folks and treated to hot scones and tea, served with clotted cream and rhubarb ginger jam.  After stories of life on the farm, we were taken to the barn to meet several different species of sheep, and then watched some sheep herding.  The dog was only about 4 months old and had not yet started her training.  What we saw was amazing, especially since it was solely based on instinct.  We watched as she herded several sheep deftly into a corral, without any prompting from the farmer.  He did indicate that this was one of the best dogs he has seen.

Later, we continued on to Galway and were dropped at the pier to explore the tourist side of the city.  Bob and I stopped at a local pub for an Irish coffee before returning to the bus and on to our hotel.

After a delicious meal with the group, we are now retired to our room to prepare for tomorrow's adventures.
